THE HOME PROJECT
LISTEN. BE CURIOUS. SMASH YOUR BIASES. BELONG.
The Home Project is a collaborative social-engagement arts initiative fostering a culture of belonging in Southern Oregon. Through portrait photography and artist-interpreted storytelling, we amplify voices impacted by housing insecurity, immigration policy, and economic uncertainty. This work culminates in public exhibitions that invite community reflection on what it means to be at home with ourselves and with one another. Original pieces by 12 local artist will be on display at ScienceWorks Hands-On Museum, June through August 2026. To bring more arts and culture projects like this to your community, donate today!

"This project involved an immense amount of listening. We started off getting a read from local care agencies on what issues were most prevalent in the Rogue Valley and which individuals from their networks would best represent the communities they serve. Once participants were identified, we conducted pre-interviews to gather information for upcoming photoshoots designed to support each person's narrative. I photographed and edited 12 separate galleries that were then sent to Oregon artists who rendered one or more of the photos in their unique creative style. The whole process was filmed start-to-finish and will be turned into a series of short videos for our funders’ websites, as well as a longer form documentary highlighting the creative process that gave rise to our final exhibit of works. The level of care and mutual respect every step of the way is truly what made this project as success."
